What is AI?

At its simplest form, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a computer program that can create, translate, and edit content. Some of these programs are ChatGPT, spellcheck, Grammarly, DeepL, and Google Translate. AI is often comprised of Large Language Models (LLMs) that contain large sets of data. Programmers input giant amounts of data taken from free-use media, scholarly journals, the entirety of the internet, and other sources. The LLMs use this data to learn what words typically follow each other. This information gives the LLMs enough guidance to deliver seemingly thought-out and complete responses to prompts users give them. LLMs can also glean data from user input, which then adds to the databanks and tells the LLMs how people typically write, errors and all.
