Introductions: The Social Media Team

What We Do: We’re your outreach team! We run the social media accounts and brainstorm ideas and posts to help get people excited to submit to Northern Eclecta. As a team, we brainstorm different ways to represent our themes and our journal as a whole in an effort to reach the broadest audience possible. We run accounts across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok.

Megan, here! I’m the social media team’s leader. I’m a second year English and education major with a creative writing minor and this is my first year in the class! My main role as team leader is to keep us on track during discussions and to give the final go-ahead for posts and other promotional materials (instagram posts, stories, and Tiktoks.) Larger scale, more serious promotions are also run by our editor-in-chief, Kylen. Working as a team leader has been amazing, but I would be seriously out of my depth without the rest of our team. They’re incredible– endlessly creative with posts and captions and always willing to offer critiques and suggestions. Lauren, especially, has gone above and beyond to help us and we wish her the best of luck as she transitions over to the editing team to help with submissions after break.

As for my favorite memory, my final volleyball game in high school will always have a special place in my heart. It was a great send-off to my high school sports career and allowed me to leave it behind without regret. (Though, I still get nostalgic watching my siblings play.)

Thank you all for reading and submitting. We’re incredibly impressed by what we’ve reviewed so far and we can’t wait to see what you’ve made. Submissions close midnight March 10th, so if you’re a procrastinator like me, you better step on it!
