Eliana's Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is Eliana Staton and I am an English major with a minor in Journalism and History. I am so excited to be a part of the 2026 northern eclecta literary journal and it's publication. Our theme for this year, Wonderstruck, I am anticipating with great thrill. I believe is going to be a great challenge for the betterment of each of us who come across this journal.

Our society teaches us to rush. We need to get from point A to point B and we have an allotted amount of time to do so. That seems to be the idea of what life is today. Efficiency is valued. Planning ahead is encouraged. Time is made "useful" to it's maximum capacity.

It is my hope that the theme of this journal allows not only me but also all of you to regain Wonder in our lives. We must not let our time rush us by. In doing so we reach a point where we no longer have the capacity to witness Wonder around us. It is here and it amazing! Let us all find excitement in the ordinary, beauty in the mundane, and wonder throughout each of our days.
